What to Expect
Visiting a new place for the first time can be intimidating. “What will it be like?” or, “What should I wear?” are all questions that come to mind. We hope to answer some of these questions for you and make your visit an experience to remember. Come have the Macedonia Experience!
When and where do you meet on Sunday mornings and Tuesdays?
Sunday school meets at 9:00 am in the Adult Classroom in the Annex, and Worship begins at 10:00 am in the sanctuary. Our Tuesday-Night-Teaching (Bible Study) is held on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm in the sanctuary.
What will it be like?
At Macedonia, we recognize that people matter to God, so people matter to us! We promise that you will find a warm, inviting atmosphere when you visit. You'll meet many smiling faces and be welcomed by friendly people.
We also celebrate our rich history as an African American church. We believe in having a hand clappin’ and toe tappin’ good time as we praise our good God! Come ready to have the Macedonia Experience!
Where should I park?
On your first visit, please park in one of our reserved guest parking spaces. Someone will be available to assist you in finding your place at Macedonia.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever you’re comfortable worshipping in. Most will be dressed in their “Sunday best,” others will be dressed casually. It doesn’t matter how you’re dressed. Just join in and praise the Lord!
What's available for my children?
Your children are important to you, and they're important to us. Safety and security are our primary concern when providing for our children.
Beginning at 4 years old, children can attend Children's Church. As we redevelop our Children and Youth Ministries set dates have not been determined. An usher will be able to tell you if we have Children's Church. You will need to sign them in. These services are not available on the 4th Sunday our Family Emphasis Sunday.
When is communion and baptism?
We celebrate the goodness of the Lord weekly. As the Lord adds to the church baptisms are held the first Sunday of the month at the beginning of the morning worship service. Communion is observed the 4th Sunday of every month during morning worship. We practice open communion and all baptised believers are encouraged to participate.
What should I do if I want to join the church?
An invitation for salvation and church membership is extended at the end of the sermon weekly. You can come forward at that time and receive salvation and/or unite with the church. You can also unite with us at any time the church is in study at Sunday School or Bible Study. You are also invited to attend our Added Members Class before joining to discover who we are and what we believe. You will have the opportunity at the conclusion of the class to decide if MMBC is the place for you.
Will I be singled out in any way?
No! We want to create a comfortable environment for you to worship. If you are a guest, we won't ask you to wear a visitor badge. However, we encourage you to fill out a very simple Visitor's Card so we can get to know more about you and help you learn a little more about the ministries available to you at Macedonia.
Is there Transportation available?
Yes. Please call the church office and let us know at least 48 hours before, and our van will be by to pick you up.
